Lots of people use popular ringtones to express their own individuality. When someone calls you and your cell phone plays your favorite tunes, this is a good way to make you smile and make the world view you in a particular way.

But ringtones have some very practical uses as well. First, any unique ring tone that you select will increase the chances that you will be able to pinpoint your mobile phone ringing in a group. Another pragmatic use is in having alternate ringtones for different people. Suppose you are in one place and your mobile phone is in another. If you only have one ring tone, you cannot know whether you must run and get your ringing cell phone or not. But with one ringtone for your girlfriend, one for your Dad, one for your annoying friend who never stops calling, you will always know whether it is worthwhile to make the effort.

So go ahead and find some ringtones that you want to listen to. These can save you some aggravation in ways you wouldn't initially suspect.
